Talent Show

So, guess whatty? I am doing the school Talent Show with my two best friends! We are dancing to a Miley Cyrus Medley, and it's gunna be pretty boss. What makes it so boss is that we are doing 3 different Dance Styles, I am being the Ballerina (YAY!), my other friend the Lyrical guru and my other friend will be doing Acro. I was just browsing outfits for us and put together one for me. (I'm the Ballerina)
First is this basic white leotard. I wanted to try a white one out because I usaully where black, and I also like to try something new :).  I didn't want to wear a spaghetti strap leotard because, you know, that would be a teensy bit acca-awkward with the whole school watching me.
I'm Not the pink Leo, just the TuTu. (I coudn't find a pic of just the tutu). I really like these kind of TuTu's. They are super pretty and graceful and this isn't a rehearsel where they need to see if my hips turn out or not!
These clip-on earrings. I know clip ons are pretty uncomtorble, but I always had this little moto that Ballerina's always need to "Shine" and these earrings with glimmer in the spotlight and they will make me look like a Shining Ballerina! (I don't have my ears peirced, I am a scaredy cat when it comes to people putting holes in me xD)
I don't think I am going to wear this, but I just wanted to put it here for future ideas. I love the idea of Ballerina's wearing Tiara's. Ahh I just love daydreaming about ballet dancin

So hope you enjoyed this post and I will keep you posted on the Talent Show!

Confessions of a Dancer Part 1

So I decided to post some cofessions of being a dancer, that us all secretly know inside that they are true. Some I stole from pinterest ;), and others I came up with.

Number 32 - Confessions of a dancer- I tried this program called Girls on the Run and I had to run a 5k at the end of the season. Lets just say I got sick at the end of the race and leave it at that xD :)
    - Number 32 (again) - Confessions of a dancer- At the talent show, this girl was dancing and the poor thang it was obvious she never danced before and I died inside seeing her bend unpointed dance. But she was still good for never dancing ;)
-  Number 387 - Confessions of a dancer - Dunno the science behind that but something to research when I'm bored. At school - hold on I need to crack my knuckles - my friend is like jeez how many bones is it possible to crack
- Number Unknown- Confessions of a dancer - I Tell that to every person I try to teach how to dance. My number 1 tip in making a dance look good. The non- dancers in the audience don't know the secrets to making a dance look fabulous, it makes the dance come together even though the audience doesn't notice it, they do notice it. If that even makes an ounce of sense xD

- Number Unknown - Confessions of a dancer - I saw this today -_-. These little girls sang the national anthem at a basketball game I just went to and they walked past me in black jazz shoes and they didn't even dance. THE SHOES WILL RUIN IF YOU WALK WITH THEM ON REGULAR FLOOR :(

- Number Unknown - Confessions of a dancer - Luckily my dance teacher brings in pictures to show us :)

Well that is part 1 of Confessions of a dancer, I hope you enjoyed, I sure did :)! Look for part 2 coming soon

Getting over dissapointments

Hi guys! Today I bring you some dissapointing news. I didn't make the dance program I auditioned for. And I don't want to tell lies to you, so that truth is, I was crushed! I cryed for 2 days straight and left dance early on friday because I was so crushed my mom took me to friendly's (a restaurant) and I just had found out that day I didn't make it so I was not in the mood to dance :(. That happened a little less than a week ago and I am already a new person. I also got a new prespective. Your a dancer without dissapointments.
So that concludes my introduction. Today I am going to help you get over these dissapointments. I am going to help you smile about it and not cry. So, are you ready to here some heartfelt stuff? Yes, you are plently ready.

Dissapointments only make you more of a dancer. Why? They make you stronger. They make you work harder. How? You may not realize it but you are working harder because you want to show those chumps who declined you that they don't know what their missing. You are showing them that one day when your on Radio City or one day when you are a student in a famous ballet school that you are the definition of dance and they made the wrong desicision turning you down.

With every dissapointment there's a small light in the distance, you may not see it at first, but after a while the light calls you and grab it. You grab it harder then you've ever grabbed something before. You know what that light is? It is an oppertunity. An oppertunity that is much better then the first one. And you grabbed that opppertunity and SMOKED it! You are light!

"I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens. Promise that you'll give faith a fighting chance. And when you get the choice to sit it out dance. I HOPE YOU DANCE"
                                         --Lee Ann Womack
Those are some lyrics of a song I am dancing to, in honor of this situation. It is a wonderful empowering song for dancers who just got declined. Link to the song:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RV-Z1YwaOiw

I found this on pinterest and I taped it to my binder.

Thank you lovely people for reading! I hope you enjoyed it. I enjoyed writing it.

Alice In Wonderland Performance

Today I decided I wanted to show my family an Alice In Wonderland Contemporary/Lyrical dance I have been self choregraphing for the past few weeks. The song is all like suspicous in everything, it makes you want to start a revouloution (lets hope I spelled that right). Now, your probably thinking, and what exactly does this have to do with Alice in Wonderland. Well, the song is actually be some composer inspired by Alice in Wonderland. It is like when she is falling into the hole and is freaking out, scared and trying to figure if it is a dream or not. I wanted to challege myself with a more advanced and emotional dance. My specialty is jazz because of my sass, facial expressions and my best moves are very easy to fit in a jazz dance. I do lyrical to, but I am not nessasarly "training" in it.
Luckily, I was Alice in Wonderland for halloween. so I have a costume. I also added leg warmers to give it a more danceish look.
I'll let you know how it went later today, in the mean time look at the pictures I took of my costume for you lovely people ;)

And also when I am a rockette I will have a look back in the past and see how I have improved on my flexibility and such and also when I'm bored in my NYC apartment I will have something to do.  I am far from doen and I am thinking of adding on to it over the next 2 years and see my accomplishments. I decided to take some pretty little pictures for you.
